Lost Mines of Phandelver – Session 03 Side A

Hello listeners! Happy Holidays from the the Wednesday Night Crew! We hope that whatever celebration you and yours take part in that it is special and done with those you hold dearest to your hearts.

And now; welcome to Episode 5, Session 03, Side A of the Lost Mines of Phandelver series! It’s the beginners adventure presented in the Dungeons and Dragons Starter Set.

The cast consists of our normal crew. Alex plays a character named Hal, who is a level 1 Bard when we meet him. Kaetlyn is playing Uitzash, a mysterious level 1 Warlock with a rather dark patron. Kolton decided to play Olo, a level 1 Tortle Barbarian. While Matt was intrigued by the idea of playing a level 1 Grung Wizard. We are using the Milestone leveling variant in this adventure, so the players are completely free to find paths to victory and resolution options outside of combat and murder to solve their problems. We’ll see how well the system supports them in that endeavor!

In today’s episode we see what lies beyond this mortal coil… and then the players decided to talk to their new Goblin friend a little bit! They get some very useful information out of him before they make a full member of their group and decide where they’re going after they’re done in this cave.

Hello listeners! Welcome to Episode 4, Session 02, Side B of the Lost Mines of Phandelver series! It’s the beginners adventure presented in the Dungeons and Dragons Starter Set.

In today’s episode, you’ll hear a psychologically harrowing fight for the players and the GM as we attempt to get our dice to cooperate with our narrative. Being only level 1, running low on class resources is kindof the name of the game, and it comes into play here in a big way. You’ll see what I mean when you’re listening to the encounter.

Basically no puns in this episode. Plenty of good jokes though.

In our episode today, the characters attempt to recover after their recent encounter with the bugbear chief of this cave system, Klarg and his goblin and wolf minions! They soon find out that they’re not out of the woods yet and their presence in the cave has not gone unnoticed…

The characters were making their delivery for Gundren Rockseeker, found some ominous signs of his demise… and then were attacked by some goblins who were pretty organized at first and then started to get squished…

This time our heroes track the goblins back to their lair which turned into a somewhat arduous journey. Upon their arrival they encounter… MORE GOBLINS! Who could have foreseen such a turn of events?!
